Privacy Policy

Summary

Weave Vault is a local encrypted vault. Your photos, videos, files, pattern, and recovery phrase stay on your device. We do not run servers that store your data. We do not have user accounts. We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry.

The only third party involved is Apple, who processes in-app purchases on our behalf.

What we collect

Nothing. Weave Vault does not transmit your photos, videos, files, metadata, thumbnails, pattern, recovery phrase, or any other vault content to us or to any third party.

We do not operate servers that receive data from the app. There is no sign-up, no login, no account identifier, no device fingerprint, and no usage log sent off your device.

What stays on your device

The following data is created and stored only on your device, in the app's encrypted storage area:

Your unlock pattern is never stored. It is used only to derive a key in memory during unlock and is discarded immediately after.

Your recovery phrase is shown to you once, immediately after you create a vault by importing your first file. It is your responsibility to record and store it safely. We do not keep a copy. If you lose both your pattern and your recovery phrase, the vault cannot be recovered.

Device permissions we request

Weave Vault asks the operating system for the following permissions, only when you initiate an action that needs them:

We do not request location, contacts, microphone, or any other permission. Originals you import from the Photos library or Files app remain in those locations unless you delete them there yourself.

Third-party services

Apple. The App Store and StoreKit handle distribution of the app and processing of in-app purchases (Weave Vault Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase). When you subscribe or purchase, Apple receives the information needed to process the transaction in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only the entitlement status (whether you are subscribed) — not your name, email, payment details, or any other personal information.

That is the only third-party service the app uses. No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or attribution SDKs are integrated.

Subscriptions and purchases

Weave Vault Pro is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription (with a 7-day free trial), or as a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple. Cancel a subscription at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Refunds, when applicable, are handled directly by Apple per Apple's refund policy.

Children's privacy

Weave Vault is rated for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone, this rule applies regardless of the user's age.

Your rights

Privacy laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) grant you rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability over personal data held about you.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can delete all data Weave Vault has created by uninstalling the app from your device, or by using the "Delete This Vault" action inside the app for a specific vault.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surface the change in an app update's release notes. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance.
